Blog Monetization Tips

If you already have a blog and aren’t seeing any income from it, you can start monetizing it quickly. The amount you can make from your blog depends on a few things like quality and traffic, but if it’s a blog you spend time and attention on and have a regular readership from a decent traffic flow, a few extra dollars coming in within 24 hours is very possible.
This main blog monetization method I’ll talk about in this article is “selling advertising space” on your blog. By hosting sponsored text link ads or banner ads in premium sizes and spaces on your blog, you can start to see income from your blog traffic almost overnight - even if you write your blog as a hobby.
Before you get overly excited, you probably shouldn’t expect to see hundreds of dollars straight away but you can make some nice pocket money quickly and regularly from selling advertising to cover website costs such as your domain name registration and hosting fees.
The number #1 and probably most popular, quickest and easiest ways to start selling ad space and get paid for it is to put up Google AdSense ads on your blog. You get paid a few cents to a couple of dollars (depending on the content) for each click of an ad made by a visitor. Unless you have a lot of traffic and a lot of AdSense ads, your earnings my not add up to a large sum - but again, a few cents will add up.
Another blog monetization option is to go through an online ad vendor such as Adbrite where you can advertise your available ad space and negotiate a price for your ad space rental for a defined time period. For example you could offer the top header banner on your blog for $10 a week.
If you want to go about selling ad space on your blog yourself, directly from your website, you can have a simple banner saying “Advertise here” and instructions to contact you directly.
Blog Topic vs. Revenue
Your blog topic and content is a swinging factor for your monetization level. If your blog is on a subject that appeals to a certain demographic that advertisers are willing to spend a lot of money to reach, you’ll be able to turn a larger profit from selling ad space than an unusual topic where the market is undesirable to advertisers.
Take the two topics of Credit Repair to Scuba Diving for example. The Credit Repair niche is very competetive and advertisers spend mega bucks on advertising to generate leads. The Scuba Diving niche is popular, however, the compettion doesn’t spend as much on advertising so for a blog publisher selling ad space, there just isn’t the same kind of money up for grabs.
Building a money making blog doesn’t take the skills and know-how of a genius rocket scientist. For more information on the most powerful money making blogging system on the web today, head over and read about FirePow blogging software and the monetization features of it here.

Video Blogging Basics

Blogging has taken a new face and Videoblogging is the next generation of posting your content, ideas and products over the world wide web. Video blogging has become almost expected of bloggers and website owners to attract new readers and a loyal reader base.
Andrew Hansen, the creator behind the new Firepow blogging software has made sure Video was incorporated in his system. Firepow allows you to add Youtube and even Camtasia videos to your blog posts with ease - along with it’s many other features.
Video is heating up on the internet. Most people love to watch videos and prefer it over reading a text only blog post. Video blogs or Vlogs offer a better way of getting your message across. Video communication may require a lot more resources than simply writing, but the payoffs can be worth it.
Videoblogging is for people who want to express themselves on the internet in a different new fashion - part of this is the whole novelty of video that attracts a new crowd of readers and the other part of it is the sheer fact that video messages are effective. From a business perspective, Video blogging gives you a lot of benefits that you can’t get with text.
Video is a powerful tool in showing your prospective customers visually your line of products or services.
This can work well for you by having video on your sales page or pre-sell page or creating promo videos to submit to video sharing websites to attract new prospects. In this way it’s just like a TV commercial without the hefty cost for broadcasting.
People like to see what they are going to get before they buy it. Many want to see proof that is does what it is supposed to do before opening their wallets. We all know what type of powerful influence thirty second commercials have. Videoblogging can create a similar affect. You display and plug your product - building desire in your prospect.
People watch it and if they see reason to have it, they will buy it. If your video presentation is done well, it can out perform any written type sales message.
Videos might seem expensive and time consuming but there are methods to create videos for every budget. If you are just starting to grow your online business, it’s not hard to create a videoblog right from a room in your home.
The very basic equipment you need to make a video you can upload to your blog is a web camera, microphone, video editing software, and some decent lighting. In some insstances, you don’t even
need a web camera - you can use screen capture software such as Camtasia to create instructional or slideshow videos.
Invest in a good quality web camera and microphone. People are won’t watch a video that is hard to view or where the sound is poor quality.
Lights are very important in video production. Lighting makes all the difference between a lousy video and a great one. You need to illuminate the area you are going to film so the picture can be easily seen. The brighter you light up the area, the crisper the images will appear.
After you have filmed your video segments, you’ll need to edit it using some video editing software. There are many video editors around ranging from free ones to expensive ones up in the hundreds of dollars mark
Choose a program that you are comforatble with using. Most Windows PC’s come with Windows movie maker and this works just fine. During the editing process, you can chop out bad scenes, add sound effects, insert text or still images too.
Vlogs are great for marketers and readers but they also have a downside. Videos can take a long time to load - depending on the size of the video.
For people with a slow dial-up internet connection, or slow running computer, it will deter them from watching your video.
To overcome these problems, there is no reason why you can’t still post text and static images together with your video to accommodate for all types of blog readers.
These days, the more creative you are in marketing and presenting your website or product to the market, the more successful your blog is likely to be. Videoblogging offers a new and attractive way of getting your
brand and marketing message across to a wider range of people.

5 Rules For a Kick-Butt Blog
Posted by Admin
Posted June 16th, 2008
Most people jump on the band wagon and write up a blog expecting it to be an instant traffic and money machine. Unfortunately, to their disappointment, it doesn’t turn out that way - it’s a miss rather than a hit.
Here are 5 basic rules to keep in mind when starting and running a blog.
1. Know your audience
What you write has to be interesting to your readers or they won’t stick around. Even if your blog is a general journal for your own personal notes and stories, it is still best to know the minds and wants of your readers.
You MUST give them what they want.
On the other hand, the reasons for most people who keep a blog is not always to feed their personal motives but to appeal to their audience with info they are searching for in a way that is fun and easy to follow.
Therefore, it is very important to post articles, stories and news that everybody in your target audience can benefit from while they understand and enjoy them.
2. Bring it Life With Pictures
Nobody wants to read a whole page of black and white blog scribble. For most of us, our writing is not any Shakespeare masterpiece. Help your blog readers enjoy reading and browsing around your blog by mixing images to it.
For one, a picture of you or something related to you or your blog will do a lot for branding. Photos and images help break up the text and in some instances, can be used to further demonstrate a topic more easily - such as a graph or diagram.
Just be careful when choosing images from the web. Most are copyrighted so always check the source to make sure you have the right to reprint the image on your blog.
Also, you don’t want to upload any image that will offend anyone reading your blog.
3. Make your blog Informative or Entertaining or Both
Blogs give you the freedom to write anything you want, but that won’t help you if you are blogging to make money on the internet. Readers only visit your blog to read some news or info they are looking for or to be entertained with humor or photos and videos.
Your blog posts have to be beneficial to your readers - either to give them an “ahaahhh” moment or to bring a smile to their face.
If you can’t provide your readers with what they want - either info or fun then you are going to find it hard to keep your readers on the page let alone get them coming back.
4. Avoid Making your Blog a Confusing Text Book
To make your blog as interesting as possible, try to make it easy to read and to navigate around for your reader. Having hundreds of links all around the page will confuse them.
Also, be careful with the words your use. Write using simple words - simple enough for a school student to understand. If you do have a blog targeted to a very tight niche, you will need to use technical jargon so this is the exception.
Short blog posts are usually better than long essays. People want to find the info they are looking for as fast as possible and don’t want to spend all day reading your 1000 word post.
Eye-capturing blog post headlines will stop readers from scrolling and get them reading. Be creative with writing your blog headlines. Keep in mind that most internet users usually scan your website than read each post word for word so deliver some interesting facts and starting with a captivation headline.
5. Make your blog Inviting and Interactive
UGT - or user generated content is one of the most powerful features you can have on your blog to please your readers and the search engines. This is achieved by making your blog interactive. The most common form of interavtivity is to allow comments on your blog.
To get comments, you need to write either a very informative post, a controversial post or incorporate some sort of bribe to get readers to post. Of course, these aren’t the only ways to attract comments, so be creative.
After someone posts a comment, try to keep the conversation going by commenting yourself about the comments. People love to feel the human side of a website so a blog they can participate in will be a blog they will come back to and tell their friends about.
Conclusion
Blogs offer so much for people to share their passions, expertise and even make money by using a blog as a marketing tool. Anything onlin where writing is concerned, you can’t beat a blog for user and reader ease of use.
Follow these 5 rules of successful blogging and the rewards for your hard work will pay off - you’ll have a kick-butt blog people will come back to!

What Type of Blog Makes The Most Money?
Posted by Admin
Posted June 6th, 2008
From product review type blogs to how-to info and hollywood gossip, there are so many types of blog models you can follow.
If you want to make some serious money with your blog you want to follow the type of blog that will pull the people ready to whip out their wallet and buy something!
With this in mind, I can recommend two types of blogs that will be profitable for you.
1. Product Review Blogs
People searching for product reviews online are more than qualified prospects as they are most likely already pre-sold on the product they are searching for. They know the name of your product and are searchign for a bit more information about it.
If you can deliver a well researched, positive review on that product, the chances of the visitor getting excited because they now know what they wanted to find out and clicking over to the order page is many times higher.
2. Problem Solving Blogs
The internet is like a massive “Yellow Pages”. There are millions of people searching for solution for a problem they are facing. If you can provide a solution for there problem or guide them to the solution, then you will get their attention. People will pay for information they want - and they will pay now for information they want now!
These are the two most lucrative types of blogs that will make you more money than say a “hobby” or “journal” based blog. Try it and see for yourself!
